The checkpoint is set to begin at 9 p.m. Saturday and continue through 3 a.m. Sunday, a Riverside County Sheriff's Department news release said. The location of the checkpoint was not disclosed. Officers will be speaking with drivers passing through the checkpoint to look for signs of alcohol or drug impairment, sheriff's officials said Funding for the operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
