Temecula Attorney Valley respsonded in the second quarter, as Plantier twice hit touchdown passes to Kumar Kilambi within a 13-second span. Both conversions failed, leaving the Bears trailing Paloma, 14-12. On the ensuing kickoff, Fred Lundy gave momentum back to the Wildcats with a 96-yard kickoff return. The PAT gave Paloma Valley a 21-12 lead, an advantage the Wildcats held the rest of way. "Really, it was a good team we were facing," Temecula Valley coach Paul McGowen said.

Ronald Reagan statue set on fire in Temecula

The monument is inscribed with parts of a speech Reagan gave to the U.S. Olympic Committee in 1983. During that speech, he mentioned the rather small town Temecula and praised the people for building their sports park without government assistance before the town became a city. The park was later renamed after Ronald Reagan in 2004. The damage discolored the statue, and the cost to restore it by sandblasting is about $4000, according to Peters. But by September 25, the nonprofit Friends of Ronald Reagan Sports Park had already received about $1000 in excess of that cost.

Advertisement for Metalography In a photo from The Press Enterprise , the statue was seen covered in black soot, and several decorative tiles behind it had been toppled over. "The people who did this, they were free to object to anything they wanted, but when they actually destroyed something, they crossed the line," said Perry Peters, founder of Friends of the Ronald Reagan Sports Park -- the group that dedicated the statue. In 1983, Reagan did something very special for Temecula: He named the town in a speech to the U.S. Olympic committee, saying Temecula Attorney showed the "can do" spirit. The nation's 40th president praised the town's efforts for fundraising and building the park without the help of the government or taxes. "That may have been their objective, to get rid of that quote, because that's the essence of what we are all about," Peters said. Whatever the motive for setting the statue on fire, it was a crime. More than 110 people signed up to testify, though some drifted away after sitting through six hours of speakers. This was a democratic republic at its best," said Councilwoman Maryann Edwards. Plans by the Islamic Center of Temecula Attorney Valley to build a 24,943-square-foot mosque on a vacant 4-acre plot in northeastern Temecula, next to a Baptist church, have been attacked by opponents who have said the mosque will attract Islamic extremists and overwhelm the neighborhood with traffic congestion and noise. The citys Planning Commission unanimously approved the project in early December, and opponents appealed that ruling to the City Council, which held a packed public hearing on the project starting about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night. This is a great day for all of Temecula Attorney, really," said Imam Mohamoud Harmoush of the Islamic Center. Now I think we must again devote ourselves to reaching out to the community." TEMECULA: ampm deal pushes Ultimate Interchange closer to reality

The existing offramp will be used to handle motorists headed west into Old Town Temecula Attorney. Currently, the two streams of motorists often clump together on a single offramp regulated by a traffic signal which combines with heavy traffic headed to southern Temecula Attorney and the Pechanga Resort & Casino. The queue of cars waiting to go through that interchange can stretch for more than a mile, creating a snarl that has a ripple effect on traffic on southbound Interstate 15. Most of the money for the project is in place, a cocktail of funds that includes more than a million in federal dollars, more than $4 million from the Indian Gaming Special Distribution Fund, more than $1 million in county money and millions more from a regional transportation account fed by development fees. Officials say it will take about 18 months to build and the city hopes to start accepting bids next year. Assistant City Manager Greg Butler said Thursday that the city will lease the station to the current occupant until the city is ready to pull the trigger on construction of the $45 million interchange. The city needed to pick up the parcel to accommodate the relocation of utilities in the area, such as the water and sewer lines. The project is labeled ultimate because it is expected to be the interchanges final upgrade and the partial cloverleaf configuration is expected to be able to handle anticipated traffic volumes until 2030. Last year, the city was short about $10 million to finish the project.

Most of the criticism focused on the potential traffic congestion that the mosque may create on neighborhood streets, although city planners said an independent traffic study showed the center would have minimal effects. Other speakers hurled visceral attacks against Islam, warning that the mosque would serve as a strategic foothold for extremists bent on undercutting Americas values and laws. "If you want to come here and not abide by our laws, you can just turn around and find another place to live," said Amy Pina, 42, of Temecula Attorney. Just as many residents, including dozens of Muslims living in the Temecula Attorney Valley, condemned those attacks as bigoted vitriol born of an ignorance of Islamic beliefs. We are not terrorists. Throughout the process, letters and e-mails have poured into City Hall from both critics and supporters. Our country was built on Freedom of Religion, all religions, not just the one I hold to," Pastor Brian Bell of the Calvary Murrieta church wrote to the Temecula Attorney Planning Commission, urging the city to approve the mosque. I believe there has been some in our community who assume all Muslims are extremists ... which is as foolish as all Christians believe in blowing up abortion clinics. Opponents of the mosque were divided among those who contended it would be a magnet for radical Muslims and those who feared that the facility would have a detrimental effect on traffic and the environment. Should Temecula Attorney become a center of even minor terrorist activity it is most unlikely that you and your colleagues will be held blameless when the situation surrounding the new center is so blatantly suspicious," Carlos Martello said in a letter to the citys mayor. The design of the proposed 24,943-square-foot mosque and center reflects a Mediterranean design seen in many Temecula neighborhoods, though the building will have traditional domes topped with crescent moons. The facility will be built in two stages, with the first limited to a 4,100-square-foot mosque to serve about 150 Muslim families living in Temecula Attorney, Murrieta and surrounding communities, Imam Mahmoud Harmoush has said. The Islamic Center, which has existed for years in a warehouse in one of Temecula Attorneys industrial areas, bought the property for the proposed mosque 10 years ago and has been raising money to build the facility ever since.

Supervisors To Consider Sweeping Changes To Temecula Wine Country

TEMECULA: Golf outing set for St. Thomas of Canterbury

``The purpose of the project is to provide a blueprint for growth toensure that future development activities will enhance, not impede, the qualityof life for existing and future residents, while providing opportunities forcontinued development and expansion of winery and equestrian operations withinthis part of the county,'' according to a county Transportation & LandManagement Agency statement submitted as part of the presentation. Under the plan, the Temecula Attorney Valley Wine Country would be defined asencompassing an unincorporated area three miles north of the San Diego Countyline, just east of Temecula Attorney, south of Lake Skinner and Northwest of Vail Lake, according to TLMA documents. The area is currently home to 42 vintners, or wine growers. SupervisorJeff Stone, whose third district covers the entire southwest county region, envisions 120 wineries eventually operating there. Preparing the area for expansion will require new infrastructure, moregovernment services and accommodations for existing residents and businesses --all of which pose challenges, though most of them can be mitigated, accordingto the environmental impact report prepared for the board. The TLMA is recommending that the board tentatively approve the 711-pageEIR, which identifies the following ``significant'' impacts arising from theproject: -- a 25 percent reduction in the amount of prime farmland otherwiseavailable for cultivation; -- an increase in particulate air pollution because of vehicle traffic, industrial equipment, grading, excavation and other activity; -- an increase in greenhouse gas emissions that exceed the South CoastAir Quality Management District's ``draft mass emission thresholds''; -- an increase in noise during the construction phase and afterward, aslarge-scale events, including weddings and wine tastings, occur; -- greater demands on fire protection services, which are already spreadthin throughout the area; and -- higher traffic volume and more roadway congestion from tourists andbusinesses. Planning officials proposed a number of mitigation measures to offsetthe impacts, though none of them would provide a 100-percent fix, and someefforts would have to be undertaken on an ad hoc basis, documents showed. ``It should be noted that while the proposed project represents anincrease in new development compared to existing conditions in wine country, itis considerably less dense than currently allowed in the county's general planpolicies,'' the TLMA stated.

Temecula Valley, Winegrowing Region Or Party Destination?

TEMECULA: Gas utility rolling out advanced meter system

The area is trying to find a balance between its serious vintners seeking industry respect and the financial boon pop-wine-loving revelers bring in. Almond champagne, anyone? August 26, 2011 |By Patrick Comiskey, Special to the Los Angeles Times The tasting room is packed on a recent weekday afternoon at Wilson Creek (Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles) The most popular beverage in the Temecula Attorney Valley, the picturesque wine region not far from the urban sprawl of Orange and San Diego counties, is something called "almond champagne." It is a more or less naturally sparkling wine (the bubbles induced in pressurized tanks) with almond flavoring added. Smelling sweetly of cream soda and marzipan, the wine's thick, cloying flavor wouldn't seem out of place in an ice cream parlor if not for a modest alcohol kick and its bitter finish. At Wilson Creek, the winery, restaurant, wedding and concert venue credited with popularizing the stuff, it sells so well that at least a half-dozen other valley wineries have developed their own versions. But Wilson Creek supplies only a tiny fraction of the fruit used for its cuvee. In fact Wilson Creek doesn't even make the wine; it's made in Lodi, 450 miles away. To most of the 500,000 or so annual winery visitors, none of this matters.

The tasting room is packed on a recent weekday afternoon at Wilson Creek Winery. The units then transmit the data to a central gas company hub. The system, which was approved by the California Public Utilities Commission, allows the utility to remotely monitor gas usage and provide that information to customers. It eliminates the need for meter readers to drive around Southern California, which will reduce the utilitys carbon footprint. Javier Mendoza, a Southern California Gas Co. spokesman, said Wednesday that the communications devices associated with the units in Temecula Attorney are scheduled to be installed in the first quarter of 2014. When the entire system is operational, the communications devices will power on for a fraction of a second each day and send gas usage information to the units.

Hed brought along Bailys 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon (Estate Clone 7 Cab). The wine is a deep garnet color. No heavy tannins, which can be astringent. None of that puckering, Baily said, which I personally cant stand. Baily read to the audience from a worn and politely condescending paperback book, Wines and Spirits of the World(1958): The difficulty is merely that in the Californian climate the finest varieties do not give of their best. We laughed. When Baily started growing grapes in Temecula Attorney, he encountered similar skepticism.

Temecula Man Arrested After $10k In Stolen Coins Recovered

(KABC) -- A man is behind bars after $10,000 worth of stolen silver coins and other items were recovered from a Temecula home on Wednesday, according to a Riverside County Sheriff's Department news release. Temecula police went to the residence located in the 40200 block of Balboa Drive as part of a stolen property investigation. Investigators received consent from the residents to search the home, where they located the coins as well as stolen firearms and jewelry, the sheriff's department stated. Andrew Hernandez, 46, of Temecula was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and being a felon in possession of firearms. He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center. Anyone with additional information on this case was asked to contact the Temecula Attorney Police Department at (951) 696-3000.

Andrew Hernandez, 46, of Temecula is seen in this booking photo taken by the Riverside County Sheriffs Department on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. The Islamic center has owned the land since 2000, but the small Muslim community has needed time to raise enough money to build. Harmoush said it could be years before the entire mosque and community center are completed. The proposal is expected to go before the Temecula Attorney Planning Commission in August, and city officials are reviewing the expected effect of the mosque on neighborhood traffic and noise levels and any other environmental concerns. "We look at land issues, that's it," said Patrick Robinson, director of the city's planning and redevelopment agency. "We don't take into account the denomination of the religion or any of the political issues that surround it." A petition opposing the new mosque is being circulated by a group called Concerned Community Citizens, and other politically active volunteers have started organizing a campaign against the facility. Karen Fesini, who belongs to a Republican women's group in the Temecula Attorney and Murrieta area, said she's been making calls to warn her friends about the project. "They say they're not radicals, but how do we know?"' said Fesini, 68.

Temecula Attorney Teachers Honored By Students

The ruling was appealed to the City Council, and Tuesday nights hearing is expected to be equally contentious. Throughout the process, letters and e-mails have poured into City Hall from both critics and supporters. Our country was built on Freedom of Religion, all religions, not just the one I hold to," Pastor Brian Bell of the Calvary Murrieta church wrote to the Temecula Planning Commission, urging the city to approve the mosque. The design of the proposed 24,943-square-foot mosque and center reflects a Mediterranean design seen in many Temecula Attorney neighborhoods, though the building will have traditional domes topped with crescent moons. The facility will be built in two stages, with the first limited to a 4,100-square-foot mosque to serve about 150 Muslim families living in Temecula, Murrieta and surrounding communities, Imam Mahmoud Harmoush has said. The Islamic Center, which has existed for years in a warehouse in one of Temeculas industrial areas, bought the property for the proposed mosque 10 years ago and has been raising money to build the facility ever since.

Planned Temecula Valley Mosque Draws Opposition

Bellator 99 preview and predictions for 'Pitbull vs Nunes' in Temecula Attorney

Large_mmamania The pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, just across a cul-de-sac from the site of the mosque, said the two religions "mix like oil and water" and predicted a "confrontational atmosphere" if the project moves forward. "The Islamic foothold is not strong here, and we really don't want to see their influence spread," said Pastor Bill Rench. "There is a concern with all the rumors you hear about sleeper cells and all that. Are we supposed to be complacent just because these people say it's a religion of peace? Many others have said the same thing," he said. Leaders of the Islamic center were surprised by the level of criticism, especially from a few religious groups, saying their current makeshift mosque and Islamic community center have been in town for more than a decade and members always have felt welcome. "Our children go to the same schools their children go to. We shop at the same stores where they shop," said Mahmoud Harmoush, the imam of the Islamic center and an instructor at Cal State San Bernardino's World Languages and Literatures Department.

Temecula Attorney High School Drug Bust Leads To 22 Arrests At 3 Schools

Wilcox should be the stronger of the two men and possesses better wrestling, but the big question mark is how well his body handles the first cut to featherweight especially after having not fought in over a year. Stepanyan has a better chin and should be the better striker in the stand-up portion, so this fight could go a myriad of ways. I'm leaning Stepanyan however due to all the intangibles going against Wilcox. Final Prediction: Akop Stepanyan via TKO in round two 145 lbs.: Desmond Green (8-1) vs. Fabricio Guerreiro (17-2) Green will be making his Bellator debut. He stood out as a talented wrestler, taking multiple opponents down and wearing them out/beating them up with a solid grinding style both standing and on the canvas. He's coming off the biggest victory of his career, scoring a TKO over UFC veteran Henry Martinez earlier this year to punch his ticket to the big leagues. Guerreiro was hailed as one of the next great prospects signed by Bellator, bu this promotional debut left quite a bit to be desired. He looked decent in the first round against Frodo Khasbulaev, but completely faded in the second and was finished by the Russian.

Temecula Attorney approves mosque after contentious 8-hour hearing

La-me-temecula-mosque Plans by the Islamic Center of Temecula Attorney Valley to build a 24,943-square-foot mosque on a vacant 4-acre plot in northeastern Temecula, next to a Baptist church, have been attacked by opponents who have said the mosque will attract Islamic extremists and overwhelm the neighborhood with traffic congestion and noise. The citys Planning Commission unanimously approved the project in early December, and opponents appealed that ruling to the City Council, which held a packed public hearing on the project starting about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night. This is a great day for all of Temecula, really," said Imam Mohamoud Harmoush of the Islamic Center. Now I think we must again devote ourselves to reaching out to the community." Dozens of residents, and speakers from as far away as Los Angeles and Hesperia, voiced their opposition to the center. "If you want to come here and not abide by our laws, you can just turn around and find another place to live," said Amy Pina, 42, of Temecula. Just as many residents, including dozens of Muslims living in the Temecula Attorney Valley, condemned those attacks as bigoted vitriol born of an ignorance of Islamic beliefs.

Temecula Valley, Winegrowing Region Or Party Destination?

Assistance League, Kohl's Partner to Provide School Clothing

Rather than a wine destination, the Temecula Attorney Valley has become something of a wine playground, where play wines upstage real wines, where "wine country" is a carefully cultivated affair that has less to do with what vineyards produce than with how they look all in the service of a tourist trade run slightly amok. On any given weekend, stretch limos and party vans stream down Rancho California Road filled with partygoers. Cruise ship patrons, on dry land for a few days in San Diego, are carted in by the busload. In winery tasting rooms, gewgaws outnumber corkscrews by impressive ratios.

According to the station, the woman who was caught on tape says she left her two children alone in her Mercedes Benz with the air conditioning running for about 15 seconds while she ran an errand. When she returned to her car, the other woman confronted her, with camera rolling. The woman who was caught on tape told CBS Los Angeles, "I obviously yelled at her. I was wrong. I shouldn't have done it. I should have apologized for being in a handicapped spot. I should have taken the kids out of the car and took them to return the video. What I did was wrong but I'm not a bad person." The woman who recorded and then posted the video said she started recording because she was concerned for the children's well-being.

Alhambra Spain Thanks to volunteers from the Assistance League of Temecula Attorney and the management at Kohl's department store, local children in need of clothing for the new school year are receiving some much-appreciated assistance. Monday was one of four days set aside in September and October as Operation School Bell days, in which children whose family qualified for assistance are given a voucher to purchase $125 worth of new clothing items at Kohl's. Kohl's contributes an additional 15 percent of that amount to the total, meaning each child can receive more than $140 worth of clothing. According to Electra Demos of the Assistance League, the only restriction is that the clothing be school appropriate. Each purchase at the Kohl's checkout count is verified by an Assistance League volunteer working with the Kohl's cashier -- some of whom also volunteer their time. "This does so much for the child's self-esteem," said Dorcas Shaktman, president of the Assistance League. "Once a student is in middle school, what you wear makes such a difference." Mike Sauer, store manager at Kohl's, said this is the third year Kohl's has partnered with the Assistance League in this project. "We are involved because we like to be involved in children's initiatives regarding health and education," Sauer said. Through this program, the Assistance League of Temecula Attorney annually helps provide clothing to about 1,700 students in four local school districts.

La-me-temecula-mosque If there are major areas of concern, the surveyors will require the hospital to put together a plan of correction, which must be approved by the state. Major areas could include building defects, but Wetton said contractors worked with the state during the construction process to make sure everything was built according to Californias guidelines. Everything else, we should be able to address during the survey itself, Wetton said. As the citys only hospital, the facility will play an important role during large scale emergencies, such as an earthquake, and Wetton said the surveyors will be inspecting the hospital to make sure it has all of its emergency food and power supplies in place. The city of Temecula Attorney has long pined for a hospital to call its own. The original approval of development plans came in 2006, yet groundbreaking didnt happen until 2012. Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Visitors interested in really immersing themselves in the process, can join in with the picking and crushing of the grapes. During crushing, the grapes are gently squeezed and the skins broken to let the juices flow. Although mechanical crushers are used in most wine-making practices today, small-scale wineries sometimes still crush the harvested grapes by walking on them barefoot. In Southern California, The Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association commemorates and celebrates the history of their winemaking each year. Their first vineyards were planted in the 1960s, and the first winery opened in 1968. There are about 40 wineries in the area today, which includes more than 35,000 acres of rolling hills and vineyards in a natural setting. This is almost double the number from 10 years ago. There are 1,500 planted acres of vineyard; mostly Rhone, Bordeaux varietals with a growing amount of Italian and Spanish varietals. The SIP Passport, available throughout the month of September from Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association, allows guests to taste at four wineries of their choice for $35.
